This painting, Cat With Lilies 2, and its companion, Cat With Lilies, both feature spider lilies along with my favorite neighborhood stray cat. The combination of the red of the lilies and the unusual colors of this cat's fur were interesting.
People sometimes wonder why artists do multiple versions of the same subject. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but my answer is "because I can" and because I'm enjoying exploring the subject in various layouts, mediums, paint treatments, etc.
