I enjoy painting scenes of everyday life. In this case, the scene is of what was McDade's Market and Brent's Drug's in the Fondren District neighborhood of Jackson. Both of these businesses were used in scenes from the movie, The Help, and this painting records the new exterior paint job that McDade's got for the movie.
